A Memorandum of Understanding Worth $600,000 was Signed Between ANDMA and DRC

Today, on Tuesday afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Deputy of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Mr. Ahmad Zia Mayar at his office and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint cooperation.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb emphasized the need for continued humanitarian assistance, stating that the people of Afghanistan require support in various sectors. He also highlighted the importance of transparency in the distribution of aid and noted that the authority has provided all necessary facilities to organizations, urging them to reduce their administrative costs.
Similarly, Mr. Mayar expressed gratitude for the authority’s cooperation in providing services to deserving communities and affirmed DRC’s commitment to delivering transparent and timely services to the people.
It is worth mentioning that, at the conclusion of the meeting, an MoU valued at $600,000 was signed between the two parties. Under this agreement, 1,576 families facing food shortages in the districts of Chakhansur, Khashrod, Chahar Burjak, and Kang in Nemroz Province will receive food packages worth $160 for four months. Additionally, 1,070 families will be provided with 50 kg of improved wheat seeds, 50 kg of diammonium phosphate, and 50 kg of urea as agricultural inputs.
At the same time, these 1,070 families will participate in a public awareness seminar covering land preparation for agriculture, pest management, efficient irrigation, proper use of fertilizers, harvest collection, waste management and other related topics.
