Signing of a Joint Cooperation MoU Between ANDMA and HHAO Institute Worth $170,680

Today in afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Deputy of the HHAO Institute, Honorable Saifullah Khan, at his office and signed a joint cooperation memorandum.
At the beginning of the meeting, Honorable Turabi welcomed the HHAO Institute delegation and expressed gratitude for the institute’s assistance and cooperation with the affected communities in the country. He emphasized that ANDMA is fully prepared to address any challenges that may arise during the institute’s activities. He further urged the institute’s officials to continue their support for the vulnerable people of Afghanistan.
Subsequently, the Deputy of the HHAO Institute, Honorable Saifullah Khan, provided details about the institute’s new project, stating that the project’s budget is funded by the UN Women office and will be implemented by the HHAO Institute. He praised ANDMA for its cooperation and efficiency in signing memoranda and expressed appreciation to the authority’s leadership for facilitating the implementation of the project.
It is noteworthy that, under this memorandum, a project valued at a total of $170,680 (one hundred seventy thousand six hundred eighty dollars) will be implemented in Faryab Province. According to the project, cash assistance will be distributed to 1,000 families affected by natural disasters in the districts of Bilchiragh, Gurziwan, Almar and Khwaja Sabzposh in Faryab Province. Families headed by women will receive $180 each, while families headed by men will receive $150 each, distributed by the World Food Programme (WFP). Additionally, the HHAO Institute will provide each of these families with 1,100 Afghanis in cash assistance.
Furthermore, the project includes educational and awareness-raising programs, which encompass the following:
- Conducting a four-day training workshop for 70 individuals on emergency preparedness and developing operational plans;
- Printing magazines and distributing stationery and brochures on reducing risks from natural disasters;
- Holding a workshop for 30 stakeholders;
- Broadcasting radio and media messages for one month to raise public awareness about the risks of natural disasters and enhance preparedness.
