H.E. Ghulam Bahaudin Jailani had a courtesy meeting with Shodmon Hajibekov CEO of Agha Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH)

H.E. Ghulam Bahaudin Jailani, State Minister for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs met with Shodmon Hajibekov, CEO of AKAH, and discussed on a range of topics of mutual interest. 
After receiving heartfelt welcome by H.E. Bahauding Jailani; respected Shodmon Hajibekov congratulated His Excellency’s appointment as Minister of State for Disaster Management and briefed him of the important activities of AKAH saying that the agency has an active presence in seven provinces and implements a wide range of disaster response and DDR projects. 
Mr. Shodmon Hajibekov stressed the need for using new technology in the field of risk assessment and disaster response and assured all kinds of cooperation with SMDM.
Matiullah Safi Deputy Minister for Finance & Administration pointed out the challenges in different assessment criteria used by NGOs and UN agencies which put hardship affected communities and requested consideration for rapid response in times of emergencies. 
Meanwhile Mohammad Qaseem Haidari, Deputy Minister for Policy. Coordination & Planning praised AKAH’s plans as effective and requested expanding of its operation beyond the 7 provinces.
In the end, H.E. Ghulam Bahaudin Jailani called on Mr. Hajibekov to share information of AKAH’s activities in 7 provinces with the Office of State Minister and promised him of any kind of support at the international, national and local level.
