Today, on Thursday afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with Ms. Mia Park, the Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Afghanistan and her accompanying delegation at his office.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed the guests and stated that, at present, under the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, this authority is not only responsible for disaster management but also for addressing the situation of migrants and returnees. He requested the IOM to continue assisting them in this regard, as it has done in the past, within the framework of its operational principles.
The Acting Head of the Authority discussed the implementation of preventive projects and upcoming programs, noting that a volunteer protocol has been developed. He emphasized the need to recruit these volunteers in villages and districts in coordination with partner organizations. He also listened to the challenges faced in implementing the organization’s project in Paktia province and instructed the relevant officials to take steps to resolve these issues.

She thanked Alhaj Turabi Sahb for his assistance in resolving the organization’s challenges and added, “During discussions with our other partners, I always mention this authority as a cooperative and successful entity.”
