An MoU for joint cooperation between ANDMA and the AWEC Organisation, valued at a total of 199,950$ was signed

This afternoon, on Wednesday,
Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with Hizbullah Sakhi, the Acting Director of the Afghan Women’s Education Center (AWEC), at his office and signed the joint cooperation agreement with him.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed the AWEC delegation and emphasized the continuation of assistance to victims of natural disasters. He stated that aid organizations must coordinate with the relevant provincial Disaster Management Departments during the distribution of aid. He also underscored the importance of transparency in the aid distribution process.
Subsequently, Mr. Sakhi, the Acting Director of AWEC, provided information about the ongoing project and noted that it would be implemented within the framework of the IEA’s laws, taking into account the guidelines of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority’s leadership.
It is noteworthy that at the end of the meeting, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding valued at a total of 199,950 USD. Under this agreement, 385 families affected by floods in the Tagab and Tashkan districts of Badakhshan Province will each receive 175 USD in cash. Additionally, the same number of families will receive non-food aid items valued at approximately 145 USD per family, including pots, pressure cookers, kettles, knives, ladles, teacups, spoons, eating utensils, plastic food storage containers, metal bowls, hand soap, laundry soap, cooking sets with a gas canister, high-quality tarpaulins, hand lamps, metal buckets and single and double-person blanket kits.
Furthermore, 200 severely affected individuals will receive 30 USD each for taxi fares to access medical consultations. Additionally, 8,000 USD has been allocated to conduct disaster preparedness workshops for 8,000 people.
