Today in morning, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Alhaj Mulla Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Deputy of the International Organization for Needy People, Honorable Ehsanullah Naeem, at his office and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation.
At the outset, Honorable Turabi welcomed the delegation from the aforementioned organization and stated, "You should implement your projects with full transparency and efficiency so that the beneficiaries can benefit from them in a timely manner. We have facilitated all necessary arrangements for you in the provinces."
Subsequently, Honorable Ehsanullah Naeem, Deputy of the International Organization for Needy People, expressed gratitude to Honorable Turabi for providing the opportunity for the meeting and for the timely signing of the MoU. He added that their organization would carry out the project in full coordination with the provincial officials of the authority.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed an MoU for collaborative projects valued at a total of $478,342. Under this agreement, training programs will be conducted for 1,800 individuals in 60 villages across Jaghori and Gilan districts of Ghazni province and Arghandab and Dai Chopan districts of Zabul province. These programs will focus on natural disaster preparedness, risk prevention, conflict resolution, and decision-making. Additionally, 15 committees will be established to address risk prevention, conflict resolution, decision-making, disaster preparedness, response planning, early warning systems, climate change adaptation, and community resilience building. Each committee will be provided with a disaster management kit containing jackets, helmets, masks, flashlights with extra batteries, radios, ropes, shovels, pickaxes, iron nails, firefighting equipment, patient transfer boards, logbooks, markers, pens, notebooks, clipboards, field maps, plastic storage boxes for equipment, and emergency contact lists. 
Furthermore, in coordination with the 15 committees, three-dimensional maps will be created and evaluated to provide accurate and reliable data for development plans. Financial assistance worth $8,992 will also be provided to the 15 committees to support efforts in mitigating the risks of natural disasters.
