Grant of a joint 14 million USD project by the Climate Adaptation Fund for Afghanistan and Tajikistan

Ghulam Bahauddin Jailani, State Minister for Disaster Management met with Abdullah Al-Dardari, UNDP Resident Representative in Afghanistan.
H.E. State Minister expressed his appreciation of the comprehensive collaboration of UN agencies for Afghanistan specifically UNDP. H.E. the Ghulam Bahauddin Jaialni while pointing to the country’s mountainous landscape, requested UNDP to support SMDM through establishing and enhancing its air transportation mechanism for conducting search and rescue operations, humanitarian response operations and for observation & research missions.
In return H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardari UNDP Resident Representative while thanking H.E. the minister of his usual support, promised to strive for supporting the Air Transportation Mechanism for SMDM through different channels. Mr. Al-Dardari also provided a brief about the new 14 million joint project which is funded by Climate Change Adaptation Fund and would mainly focus on implementation of DRR and resilient project in both Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
