Today in morning, His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, visited the earthquake-affected areas in the Sutan village of Dara-e-Noor district, Nangarhar province, and initiated the process of distributing cash assistance to the families of martyrs and the injured.
During this visit, Alhaj Turabi Sahb was accompanied by Qari Dad Mohammad Hussaini, the head of the Disaster Management Authority of Nangarhar province, Molvi Abdullah Ruhani, the district governor of Dara-e-Noor, and several local elders.
The Director General conveyed the condolences and sympathies of His Excellency Amir-ul-Momineen (may Allah protect him) to the families of the martyrs and the injured. He stated that food and non-food aid, including tents, have already been provided to most residents of the district. Nevertheless, he emphasized to partner organizations the priority of distributing tents and cash assistance to the affected population. He further noted that efforts would be made to provide temporary shelters for the affected in the rugged areas of this district or the Khewa district. However, the primary focus remains on constructing permanent shelters using the resources of the Islamic Emirate and partner organizations.
Meanwhile, His Excellency Alhaj Turabi Sahb offered prayers for the souls of the martyrs and initiated the distribution of cash assistance. Accordingly, 20,000 Afghanis were distributed to the families of each martyr, and 10,000 Afghanis to each injured person. The remaining aid for other affected individuals will be distributed by the district governor of Dara-e-Noor and the head of the Disaster Management Authority of Nangarhar province.
