In the meeting, Mr. Stuart Simpson congratulated H.E. the minister’s appointment as State Minister for Disaster Management and added: Broadly IOM is working in two areas being Migration and DRR+DR which we have very good coordination with the relevant government organizations namely MoRRD and SMDM.
Mr. Simpson also briefed H.E. the minister about IOM’s activities and assured its continued commitment.
From the other side, H.E. State Minister in addition to welcoming Mr. Simpson and appreciating the long term effective operation of IOM in the country and more specifically in the field of DRR and DR; emphasized the need for strengthening of cooperation & coordination between IOM and SMDM.
It’s worth mentioning that respected Matiuallah Safi, Deputy Minister for Finance & Administration, Mohammad Qaseem Haidari, Deputy Minister for Policy and Coordination, Gul Mohammad Ahmadi, IOM Program Manager and some of SMDM Directors were also present in the meeting.
