The Director General of ANDMA Traveled to Nangarhar Province and Held an Emergency Meeting with Provincial Staff and Volunteers in the Eastern Zone
This morning, on Saturday, His Excellency Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, traveled to Nangarhar Province at the head of a technical and specialized delegation. The visit was made in accordance with directives from the Office of the Prime Minister, with the aim of addressing the needs of people displaced by recent conflicts.
In this emergency meeting, attended by the directors and staff of the Disaster Management Directorates of Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, and Nooristan provinces, as well as volunteers from the Eastern_Zone, Alhaj Turabi Sahb stated that, based on the directives of the Prime Minister’s Office, the responsibility for responding to the urgent needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Eastern Zone provinces has been entrusted to this administration. The southern provinces have been assigned to the Red Crescent Society. Accordingly, we have begun our work using all available resources and are conducting a precise, village-by-village survey. This will ensure that any displaced individuals from these provinces — even if they are currently in Kabul or any other province — receive the necessary assistance.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb added that the administration has the required supplies in its warehouses and, if necessary, will transfer additional resources from other provinces. He emphasized that the Prime Minister’s Office has also pledged every kind of support.
Following this, the Director General of the Administration discussed the 22-point agenda in detail. He received individual opinions and suggestions on each item separately and made the necessary decisions regarding them. Additionally, 16 specialized committees were formed, and the committees have begun their work.
