A Memorandum of Understanding was Signed Between ANDMA and ActionAid for $368,588

Today in afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Head of ActionAid, Mr. Sri Kanta Misra, at his office and signed a joint cooperation memorandum.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the ActionAid delegation and expressed gratitude for the organization’s continuous support to disaster-affected communities. He assured them of resolving any potential challenges in the implementation process and urged ActionAid to continue its assistance to the suffering people of Afghanistan.
In response, Mr. Sri Kanta Misra, Head of ActionAid, provided details about the organization’s projects and commended ANDMA for its efficiency in signing memoranda, particularly with international organizations. He also expressed appreciation to Alhaj Turabi Sahb for facilitating the signing of this agreement.
It is noteworthy that at the conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding worth a total of $368,588 was signed between the two parties. Under this agreement, projects involving the construction of check dams and small reservoirs, valued at $205,200, will be implemented in the districts of Suzma Qala, Sancharak, and Gosfandi in Sar-e-Pul province, which have been affected by recent droughts.
Additionally, pits will be dug in these areas to store rainwater. To execute this project, 900 workers will be employed for 20 days, with each receiving a daily wage of $5.
