An online meeting was held between ANDMA and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in Disaster Preparedness

The online meeting took place between Mr. Burhanuddin Shinwari, the Chairperson of the Technical Committee of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Dr. Aimal Safi, the Senior Advisor on Mine Action Affairs, and officials from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, in order to enhance cooperation and share experiences.

During this online session, both sides discussed the modalities of cooperation during disasters and emergencies, the sharing of experiences, and the training of the Authority's search and rescue teams.

The Azerbaijani side presented and shared their objectives during disasters, active sectors, procedures, mechanisms, and operational approaches, along with their relevant experiences.

Likewise, the Chairperson of the Technical Committee of the Authority expressed gratitude for the information provided and emphasized the need for bilateral cooperation in the areas of capacity building, public awareness, rapid response to natural disasters, and mine action affairs.
